MICHEL 794
HITLER'S HEAD

BACKGROUND: This series of Hitler's head stamps was first introduced in Aug 1941 and gradually rolled out over the next few years as stocks of Hindenburg Medallion stamps were used up. Michel Numbers 793 to 798 (25Rpf through 80Rpf) were designed by Eric Meerwald, printed at the State Printing Works in Berlin and were printed recess on coated paper.
