BACKGROUND: This postcard was published to commemorate 'Stamp Day' in GIESSEN in 1943. The self adhesive stamp is the official 1943 Day of the Stamp and has been cancelled with the special handstamp used in 'DEN HAAG', in the occupied Netherlands.
