EUROPEAN POSTAL CONGRESS
BACKGROUND: Issued 19th Oct 1942. This postcard is identical to P294 above with the exception of an additional inscription across the bottom of the stamp. The inscription reads "19th Okt. 1942" and is the day on which the European Postal Agreement was signed.

1. The following card is an example of a P295 postcard cancelled with the commemorative handstamp used in WIEN on 24th Oct 1942.



DOMESTIC USAGE
1. The following card was sent from VIENNA to KÖNIGSBURG on 23rd Apr 1943. This example has a special slogan cancel inscribed "EIGENE VORSICHT | BESTER UNFALLSCHUTZ" - 'OWN CAUTION | BEST ACCIDENT PROTECTION' that was part of a long campaign to educate the public on various health and safety issues.


2. The P295 postcard below was sent from HAMBURG on 7th Jan 1943



3. The following card was sent from HAMBURG-ALTONA to MUNICH on 24th Nov 1942.




REGISTERED MAIL
1. The folloeing card was a local delivery on WIEN on 24th Oct 1942. The total postage paid was 33 Rpf and features all three of the comemmorative stamps issued to mark the European Postal Congress.

1. The special handstamp used on the example below was applied in WIESBADEN on 23rd Nov 1942 and bears the inscription "WIESBADEN | Waffenstillstand Kommission" - 'WIESBADEN | Ceasefire Commission'


2. This next example was cancelled on 14th Jan 1944 and features the special WHW slogan that was used to commemorate 10 years since the organisation's founding.
