VALIDITY: 12th Jan 1941 until the end of the war

Issued to commemorate Stamp Day on 12th Jan 1941 this series of eight official postcards is entitled 'Im Kampf un die Freiheit' - 'In Struggle and Freedom'. The designs were from the husband-and-wife team, Axster-Heudtlass and feature various branches of the armed forces.

These cards cost 20 Rpf each and exist with and without the 6 Rpf pre-printed stamp.

There are eight different designs as follows:

P242/01: The Infantry
P242/02: Mountain Infantry
P242/03: Mountain Infantry in winter uniforms
P242/04: Tank Pioneer
P242/05: Railway Artillery
P242/06: Marine soldier - Kreigsmarine
P242/07: Radio operators
P242/08: Waffen SS personnel
