MICHEL P265
OFFICIAL POSTCARD
HARVEST THANKSGIVING FESTIVAL

Validity: Issued on 1st Oct 1937 and valid for use until 30th Jun 1938.

This Official postcard was used to celebrate The Harvest Thanksgiving Festival and Reich's Farmer's Day in 1937. The indicia stamp is the same as that on Michel Block 7 and Block 8, featuring a picture of Adolf Hitler. The image on the left shows a group of farmers with a wreath of ducks and is based on a Heinrich Hoffmann photograph.

The card retailed for 25 Rpf with the balance of 19 Rpf being a donation to Hitler's Culture Fund.

There were two almost identical rectangular special cancels used in BÜCKEBERG inscribed 'BÜCKEBERG | Erntedanktag'. The rectangle is made up of four ears of wheat, one for each side. The first is a machine cancel where the circular CDS and the rectangle are separate and the second is a hand roller cancel almost the same except it has seven horizontal lines connecting the round CDS and the rectangle.
