BACKGROUND: There were quite a number of postcards both Printed-to-Private-Order as well as others, published to commemorate the 700th Anniversary of the city of Berlin.

This postcard was issued to commemorate the 700th Anniversary of Berlin and bears the inscription "700 | Jahre Berlin | heimatschau | im | Verw.- Bezirk Pankow | Rathaus | 15.-22. August 1937" - '700 | Years of Berlin | Homeland Show | in | Administrative district of Pankow | Town Hall | 15.-22. August 1937'.

For example, the text "700 Jahre Stadt Berlin" can be found in either yellow or gold text. The front of the cards can also be found with either no text or with several variations of text.

Below is another common example of a postcard published to commemorate the 700th Anniversary, this time a city multiview from Verlag Otto Hoppe. Note also the special cancellation used with the anniversary.
Below is another example of this card, this time postally used with the special handstamp used at the mobile post office in BERLIN to commemorate the 700th Anniversary. The card was cancelled on 17th Aug 1937 and was sent to DENMARK.
