PP50-E-1
GERMAN CHILDREN'S AID
BACKGROUND: This card was published in order to raise funds for the "Deutsche Kinderhilfe" Bayern, a National Children's Charity with the local branch in Bavaria. The image on the reverse side features a destitute child begging for help, designed to stir the emotions and get donors to give more money.
This was the only Printed to private order postcard to feature this particular stamp, an orange Bayern 10Pf Coat of Arms pre-printed stamp, overprinted "Deutsches Reich". The front of the card has the inscription "Deutsche Kinderhilf in Bayern" - 'German Children's Aid in Bavaria" on the left-hand side and "Offizielle Postkarte" - 'Official Postcard' on the right. The central dividing line also has an inscription "VERLAG WERBEDIENST".
