OFFICIAL POSTCARD WITH PRIVATE OVERPRINTS
10 Pf DEUTSCHES REICH

Issued: 1916. Form change: Text form smaller, with the word "postkarte" in the centre of the card, above the vertical divider. Without watermark.

In addition to the official card there were many others available with private printing, some of which can be seen below.



1. Destination address "Oberleutnant Transfeld | Berlin-Halensee | Kurfürstendamm 132a". The word "Postkarte" has been obliterated with 4 horizontal lines and replaced by the word "Drucksache!". The reverse side bears the inscription "Weihnachtsverkauf des Vereins Edelweiβ" - 'Christmas sale of the Edelweiss association'.




2. This private printing has a destination address of "An Firma | Queisser & Co. | G.m.b.H. | Hamburg 19". The reverse side has a table for ordering items from the company.




3. Destination address "An die | Behringwerke G.m.b.H. | Bremen". The reverse side has a table for ordering items from the company.




4. This card has a destination address of "Herren | Kalkmann & Nobbe | BREMEN". The pre-printed 10Pf Germania stamp has ben obliterated by 4 horizontal lines and the sender's section has a list of coffee's that can be ordered by returning the card.




5. Destination address "Herrn | Ottocar Nebelung | HAMBURG 37". The card appears to be offering products/services from the four companies listed in the sender's section.




6. Destination address "Herrn | Hermann Bonhoff | vom Hause Oertgen & Schulte | DÜSSELDORF | Grafenberg".




7. This card was used by DEUTSCHE BANK to record the value of a deposit from Mr. Richard Beckers of Berlin.




8. This card is a reminder to a fraternity brother that he needs to urgently pay his dues in order to "achieve orderly book keeping". The card was cancelled in KIEL on 1st Sep 1920 and was destined for the nearby town of LABOE




9. Destination address "Herrn | Dr. Chalnbaus | in Dresden A-1". The sender's section has 13 lines of text and the reverse side has an order form for the company's products.
