KÜNSTLER STEIN ZEICHNUNG
ARTIST STONE DRAWING
TOWNS and CITIES P to R
I don't know when this series of postcards was published, or how many cards were in the complete series, but I have placed them here as the earliest cancellation date I have seen is 1911. It is quite likely that these cards were issued in multiple batches over several years.
The cards seem to have been printed by a number of different publishers and are all unnumbered, so I have categorised them below by city as follows:
A to C
D to F
G to I
J to L
M to O
P to R
S to U
V to X
Y to Z

The second card is titled "ROSTOCK, KRÖPELINER TOR" or "ROSTOCK, KRÖPELINER GATE". The Kröpelin Gate, the westernmost of the four large gates of Rostock's city fortifications, was built around 1270 in the Gothic style . With its two floors it remains one of the largest of the city gates, which at times numbered up to 22. It is not known if the gate was named after the small town of Kröpelin, towards which it leads, or after a patrician family of the same name.
ROTHENBURG
No.1 - ROTHENBURG O.T.
The third card is titled "ROTHENBURG O.T. | Klingergasse mit Rothernburger Erker" -'ROTHENBURG O.T. | Klingergasse with Rothenburg bay window'. The town's full name is Rothenburg ob der Tauber and is located in Central Franconia in the Ansbach district in Bavaria.
No.2 - ROTHENBURG O.T. - RATHAUS
The Rothenburg Town Hall, completed around 1377, is a large building located in the market square in the older part of town. The postally used example of this card shown below was cancelled in ROTHENBURG on 21st Nov 1920 and was bound for MUNICH. This example features a 1920 issue
