BACKGROUND: Issued 1924. Stylised Adler, small postcard format 140 x 90 mm. Single line for the dividing line. Almost identical to P162 except for the dividing line on P162 is thicker and consists of a thick dark green line with light green on each side (3 lines).
There are two versions of this postcard as follows:
P156-I: with four straight edges.
P156-II: with one or more serrated edges.
There were at least 90 private printings of P156 as follows:
Cities A to E; Cities F to L; Cities M to S>; Cities T to Z

1. This first P156-I was cancelled in CHEMNITZ on 13th Jul 1925.2. This second postally used P156-I was cancelled on 11th Nov 1924 in SULINGEN.
3. The next card was sent from KARLSRUHE to WALDSHUT on 1st Sep 1924.
FOREIGN USE WITH 15 Rpf
1. Cancelled in AUGSBURG on 10th May 1925 this foreign used P156 postcard was sent to LONDON, ENGLAND from a well-known philatelist supplier H. TREITEL. This example features a special handstampHOLLAND

EXPRESS DELIVERY CARD
1. The following example is an EXPRESS DELIVERY (Durch Eilboten Expres - By Express Courier) from LANGENSALZA to BERLIN sent on Monday, 11th May 1925 and arriving the following day. An extra 30Pf of postage has been provided in order to pay the express delivery fee.2. Another Express Delivery card this time posted in GIEβEN on 2nd Dec 1924 and destined for FRANKFURT aM MAIN.
3. The postcard below was cancelled on the WÜRTT Train No. 50 on 7th Nov 1924.
