MICHEL P150
OFFICIAL POSTCARD
3 MARK + 0.80 MARK

BACKGROUND: Issued Oct 1922. Issued to account for the latest increase in postal rates. The upper border has the inscription "Nimm ein Postcheckkontrol" and the lower border has a revised inscription, this time "Preis: Freigebuhr + Papierzuschlag". Apart from the revised text on the lower border, this postcard is the same design as P146. The other major difference being an increase in the value of the pre-printed stamp. The value has now increased to 3 Mark with an 80Pf surcharge.

There are three versions of this card as follows:

P150-a-I: P150-a-I is ultrmarine in colour and has straight edges to the card.
P150-a-II: is the same as P150-a-I above but now with a serrated edge.
P150-b: is Prussian blue in colour and has straight edges to the card.

In addition to the regular official card described above there were quite a number with private printing. In addition these cards can be found with both domestic and foreign usage.

11. Reverse of card has multiple lines of text including "PREUSSISCH-SUDDEUTSCHE | KLASSENLOTTERIE". Two versions, one with "BRIEGLEB", the other "KOSSMANN".

DOMESTIC USAGE

1. This first domestically used card was sent to BAD SOBERNHEIM on 13th Apr 1923. As well as the pre-printed 3 Mark stamp, there are an additional two stamps, a 12 Mark and a 25 Mark, for a total of 40 Marks.

2. As with the card above, the following card has also been uprated to 40 Marks and was sent from FRANKFURT to ASCHAFFENBURG on 8th Apr 1923.

3. The next card has also been uprated to 40 Marks but this time with a different combination of stamps. The card was sent from HALBERSTADT to BAUTZEN.
