LOCAL ISSUE CONCESSION LABELS
(CRETE)
BACKGROUND: Airmail concession labels of 1942 were overprinted red "Inselpost" between two parallel lines of asterisks in Crete. Approximately 100,000 labels were produced at the soldier's newspaper "Veste Kreta" printing works.
This stamp was only produced on vertical half sheets.
