BACKGROUND: On 5th Dec 1940 existing Luxemburg issue stamps were overprinted with new 'Rpf' values. The original stamp is a Michel LU 281 that was issued on 1st Jun 1935. It was designed by Robert Savage and printed by the American bank Note Co. The image is the Grand Duchess Charlotte (1896-1985).
VALIDITY: 5th Dec 1940 until 31st Mar 1941
VALUE: 30Rpf on 70 Centime
