BACKGROUND: On 5th Dec 1940 existing Luxemburg issue stamps were overprinted with new 'Rpf' values. The original stamp is a Michel LU 224 that was issued on 15th Feb 1930. It was designed by Robert Savage and printed by the American bank Note Co. The image is the Grand Duchess Charlotte (1896-1985).
