BACKGROUND: This was a re-issue of the Hindenburg Medallions II series from earlier in the year, but now with Swastika watermark and perf K14:14¼. As these stamps were produced over a long period of time, they do show significant variations in colour and shade.

The only way to determine if a stamp is from a sheet or a coil is if it has a section of the gutter attached or if there is a continuous strip of 11 stamps (coil only).
This stamp can also be found with two variations of the watermark.
There are two variations of the swastika watermark as viewed from the back of the stamp. By far the most common is the type 'X' where the legs of the swastika point to the left. The much rarer type 'Y' has the swastika legs pointing to the right.
