BACKGROUND: This was a re-issue of the Hindenburg Medallions II series from earlier in the year, but now with Swastika watermark and perf K14:14¼. As these stamps were produced over a long period of time, they do show significant variations in colour and shade.

The only way to determine if a stamp is from a sheet or a coil is if it has a section of the gutter attached or if there is a continuous strip of 11 stamps (coil only).
The booklets are more easily distinquished from the sheets when they exist as se-tenants with two different value stamps attached or if the values are the same but one of the stamps is inverted.

PLATE FLAWS
There are no major plate flaws.

This first special cancellation was one of six that was used at the Creative People Exhibition held in DÜSSELDORF from May to October 1937
