SPECIAL CANCEL TYPES
There are a number of different types of special cancel and the BOCHMANN catalogue lists them as follows:
HANDSTAMP 'Hd'
The handstamp consists of a circular cancel with text usually consisting of the town/city name, the data and a short phrase or message. Quite often the handstamp also includes a simple image.
Type 'A'
The Type 'A' cancellation consists of two parts: A circular CDS on the right and a slogan on the left. The CDS indicates the town/city of use, the date, possibly the time and a counter. The slogan to the left of the CDS consists of either text, an image or both.
Type 'B'
The Type 'B' cancellation consists of two parts: A circular CDS on the left and a slogan on the right. The CDS indicates the town/city of use, the date, possibly the time and a counter. The slogan to the right of the CDS consists of either text, an image or both.
Bandstempel - Type 'Bd'
Consists of identical repeating rectangular slogans separated by a CDS.
Type 'C'
Consists of a CDS in the centre with a slogan to the left and six wavy lines to the right.
Type 'D'
Consists of a CDS in the centre with a slogan to the right and six wavy lines to the left.
Type 'E'
The Type 'E' consists CDS in the middle - text on the left - other advertising text on the right
Type 'F'
Type 'F' has the CDS in the middle - text on the right - other advertising text on the left
Type 'G'
The Type 'G' has the CDS in the middle, the text/image on the left and a pre-printed postal charge on the right.
Type 'H'
The Type 'H' has the CDS in the middle, the text/image on the right and a pre-printed postal charge on the left.
Bandstempel - Type 'K'
Consists of two different slogans separated by alternating CDS cancels
Type 'Ro'
Hand roll stamp. Consists of two CDS separated by a slogan with 6 lines connecting them all together.
