WEHRMACHT KALENDERS

This series of postcards (from Verlag der Wehrmacht KG, Berlin) was included as part of an annual "Wehrmacht Kalender" which appeared from 1938 until 1943. There were 52 tear-off postcards per calendar (no postcards in the 1943 issue) and the images are very typical of the type of postcards that were being published in Germany prior to, and in the early years, of the Second World War.

These calendars are difficult to get hold of in their complete form so currently I do not know which calendar every card was issued. See the following links for cards that I have been able to place so far:

1938
1939
1940
1941
1942
1943

For the postcards that I have been unable to place, I have divided them up based on the publisher's details printed along the vertical divider on the reverse of the card.

There appear to be at least four series, all of which are very similar. The difference can be seen in the text running vertically along the central dividing line on the reverse of the cards, in particularly the street and numbers at the end of the line of text.

More research is required on these cards and any additional information would defintely be appreciated.

1938 WEHRMACHT KALENDER

Published in late 1937 for the year 1938 by the Verlag Die Wehrmacht, this was the first annual calendar issued to illustrate the power of the German armed forces.

The calendar consisted of approximately 60 pages with 52 weekly pages each of which contains a tear off postcard. Between the calendar pages were several full page images.
