BACKGROUND: Card 35-54-1-B9 was issued in Apr 1935 and features an image of Wildbad (renamed Bad Wildbad in 1991, where 'Bad' is the German word for 'Bath') in the Black Forest. The card is inscribed as follows:



"Wildbad im Schwarzwald, | berühmtes Thermalbad gegen Rheuma, Gicht, Ischias | Herrlicher Luftkurort 430-750 m ü.d.M"

"Wildbad in the Black Forest, | famous thermal bath for rheumatism, gout, sciatica | Wonderful climatic health resort 430-750 m above sea level"

1. The following domestically used postcard was sent from NÜRNBERG to STUTTGART on 11th Apr 1935. The card features the special cancellation used in 1935 to advertise the seventh Nazi Party Rally held from 10th to 16th Sep.

PRIVATE PRINTING

1. This 35-54-1-B9 card has a private printing from 'Firma Oscar Peters of Chemnitz'. This example has a Bahnpost cancellation from the LEIPZIG-HOF train on train number 4212 on 22nd Apr 1936. The sender was a firm named 'Albert Leidhold of SCHWEINSBURG (PLEISSE) SA'.

The message on the reverse translates roughly as "I have not yet decided whether or not to purchase a lifting jack, however I will get back to you later if necessary"
