100 YEARS of POSTAGE STAMPS
BOGEN-STRAUBING
(8th/9th Jun 1940)
BACKGROUND: There were four very similar cards published for the K.d.F to promote the 100th Anniversary of the Postage Stamp Exhibition held in Straubing on 8th and 9th Jun 1940 (and one more re-issue in 1941 with green text and no pre-printed stamp). All four cards featured the same image and a 3Rpf pre-printed hindenburg Medallion stamp but there were differences between them.
The cards feature a colour map of the area around the town of Straubing and the transport links available in order to reach the exhibition venue. Below the image there are either 5 lines of coloured text (PP122-C-111, PP122-C-117 / 01), 6 lines of grey text (PP122-C-117 / 02), or no lines of text, PP122-E-7.
