FIRST COLLECTORS' SHOW
(26th/27th Oct 1940)
BACKGROUND: There were four postcards, 3 with the same design but different value pre-printed stamps, published to commemorate the first collectors' show, sponsored by the 'Strength through Joy' collectors' group in Berlin-Schöneberg.
SPECIAL CANCEL: There was a special cancel inscribed 'BERLIN-SCHÖNEBERG 1 | Sammlerschau der | K.d.F-Ortssammlergruppe Schöneberg'.
FIRST DESIGN
The design shows an artists hand drawn view of some of the buildings of Berlin, including the Brandenburger Tor, in the top, centre of the card. To the left of the city view is a "Strength Through Joy" (K.d.F) logo. Test along the left-hand edge reads "Sonderpostkarte, Abgabepreis 20 Rpf" - 'Special postcard, selling price 20 Rpf' and on the bottom left-hand side is the inscription:ERSTE

SECOND DESIGN
The second design had inscriptions printed on both the front and the reverse of the card and only one variant, that with a 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp was available. The front of the card featured two K.d.F logos, one in each of the top corners, and a Coat of Arms at the bottom centre. Between these images was the following inscription:ERSTE

The reverse of the card had a KdF logo in the top left-hand corner with a similar inscription as before to the right. Along the vertical central dividing line is the inscription "Abgabepreis 20 Rpf" - 'Selling price 20 Rpf'. In the bottom left-hand corner is another inscription similar to the others.
