WITNESS from a DIFFICULT TIME
EXHIBITION
(2nd/5th Jun 1939)

BACKGROUND: Published 2nd to 5th Jun 1939 to commemorate the "Witness in a difficult Time Exhibition" held by the Kurhessen K.d.F collectors’ group from 2nd to 5th Jun. There were two postcards of identical design. The first postcard has a 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion stamp (see below) and the 5Rpf has an airmail stamp .

DOMESTICALLY USED

This domestically used PP122-C-105 card was posted in KASSEL on 3rd May 1939 and sent to KÖNIGSBERG. The 3RPf pre-printed postage was not sufficient to cover the cost (6Rpf) so there is a large blue 5 indicating that an additional 5Rpf was required to be paid by the recipient (3Rpf x 1.5).
