BACKGROUND: This F.K.FRANCK designed postcard was published to commemorate Gau Day in Kaiserslautern on the 1st and 2nd Jul 1939. The image is that of the front side of the 'Westwall Badge' designed by Werner Redo, depicting an eagle holding a swastika wreath above the hills surrounding the Westwall. [MORE RESEARCH REQUIRED].
