GERMAN-ITALIAN MILITARY PACT
(Pact of Steel)
(22nd May 1939)
BACKGROUND: On 22nd May 1939 Germany and Italy signed 'The Pact of Steel', a 10-year military and political alliance whereby both countries would support each other should one or the other be attacked by a third party.
The postcard depicts the rulers of Italy (Mussolini), Germany (Hitler) together with their foreign ministers von Ribbentrop (Germany) and Count Ciano (Italy)
