1st FREIBURG SPORTS MEETING

BACKGROUND: This postcard was published to commemorate the 1st Baden Post Sport and Postal Security meeting in 1939. The inscription reads "1. Badisches Postsport | und Postschutz-Treffen | 28. und 29. Mai 1939 | Freiburg 1.Br.' - '1. Badisches Postport | and postal security meetings | May 28 and 29, 1939 | Freiburg 1st Br.'
The Post Schutz was created in 1933 and it was the security arm of the Post Office, whose main function was to protect post office locations (primarily from attack by Communist subversives).
