BACKGROUND: The 1939 annual Brown Ribbon Race was run on 30th Jul 1939. To commemorate this year's race the following "Gedenkblatt" or commemorative sheet was produced. The sheet doubled as a postcard and featured the Michel 699 commemorative stamp.
