INTERNATIONALEN DEUTSCHE ALPENFAHRT
INTERNATIONAL GERMAN ALPINE TOUR
(31th Jul - 2nd Aug 1939)

BACKGROUND: This postcard commemorates the second and final International German Alpine Tour (the first taking place between 28th and 20th Jul 1938).

The Alpine Tour was an event organised by the NSKK Motor Upper Group for Southest. The vehicles taking part were either regular motorcycles, motorcycles with sidecars, sports cars or passenger cars. The races began in Munich then traversed over the next 3 days through various German and Austrian towns and cities until it finished in Vienna.

The example below was cancelled 12 years after the race in Austria on 4th Aug 1951.
