GREATER GERMANY's 1st W.H.W FUND

BACKGROUND: Issued 26th Mar 1939 to commemorate the 1st Greater German Winterhilfswerk fund. There were two postcards issued and each has a 3Rpf pre-printed Hindenburg Medallion stamp. The images on these two cards are representaive of the many pins that were given out by the W.H.W in exchange for donations on collection days, and there are hundreds of different designs so collect. As well as the two printed-to-private-order postcards these cards can also be found without pre-printed stamps.

This card has a 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp. In addition it has the special cancel used in ASCHAFFENBURG.

This card also has a 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp but now with a different design from the first card. This example also has the special cancel used in Aschaffenburg.

As with PP122-C-103/01 above, PP122-C-103/02 also existed without a pre-printed stamp. The example below has been cancelled with the special cancel used in SCHWEINFURT.
