45th PHILATELISTS DAY MUNICH

BACKGROUND: Issued 3rd to 5th Jun 1939 to commemorate the 45th Philatelists Day held in MUNICH and SALZBURG. There are four variations available all featuring the same basic design. Two have 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamps and the other two have 5Rpf Luftpost stamps. in addition there was an commemorative envelope featuring a pre-printed 4Rpf Hindenburg Medallion satmp.
SPECIAL CANCEL: There were two different special handstamps used to commemorate this event. The first in MUNICH and the second in SALZBURG. See here for more details.
