TAG DER BRIEFMARKE - WALTER BEHRENS
THE DAY OF THE STAMP
(9th/10th Jan 1937)
BACKGROUND: This postcard was published by Walter Behrens of Braunschweig to commemorate the 1937 Day of the Stamp on 10th Jan. The company describes itself as "Stamp Dealer Walter Behrens, the large, world-renowned speciality store that employs over 40 top-class employees".
As well as being a postcard it also doubled up as a mailing list for the company. As you can see from the example below, the card came with a mailer attached. The idea was for the recipient to tear this portion off, then return it to Walter Behrens with his, or someone else's particulars filled in. The other side has the option to order one or more items from a list.
SPECIAL CANCEL: There was no special cancel related to this card although there were many directly related to the "Day of the Stamp" in general.
