1st SPREMBERG PROMOTIONAL EXHIBIT

BACKGROUND: Issued 12th Dec 1937 this postcard was published to commemorate the 1st Promotional Exhibit of the Spremberg Stamp Collectors' Club. There are two cards: PP122-C-64 which has a 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp and PP142-C-20 which has a 5Rpf Luftpost pre-printed stamp.
The image on the two cards is the same and depicts the Spremberg Coat of Arms above the Spremberg memorial stone (the stone marks the centre of the German Empire as calculated by geographer Matzat), inscribed "Mittelpünkt | vom Deutschen Reich" - 'Centre point of the German Empire'. Below the image is an additional inscription describing the event "1. Werbeausstellung | des Briefmarken-Sammler-Vereins | im Reichsbund der Philatelisten e.V | Spremberg N.L. 12.12.37."
