BACKGROUND: This Heko designed postcard commemorates the Donaustauf Summer Nights Festival held on 31st Jul and 1st Aug 1937.

SONDERSTEMPEL: [BOCHMANN: Heft: 5, Page: 220, Nr: S1. The special handstamp used at this event can be seen on the example below inscribed "DONAUSTAUF | Wehrmacht | 31.7/1.8.37 | Sommernachtsfest". The handstamp was only available on the two days of the event but there are two examples, with either a counter 'a' or with a counter 'b'.



The inscription below the image reads "Wehrmacht und volk sind eins" - 'The Wehrmacht and the people are one'
