BRIEFMARKEN AUSSTELLUNG - KASSEL
KASSEL STAMP EXHIBITION
(22nd/23rd May 1937)

BACKGROUND: Published to commemorate the Kurhessen-Thüringen Postage Stamp Exhibition held in Kassel on 22nd and 23rd May 1937. There are three basic versions of this postcard featuring either "Löwenburg", "Schloss Wilhelmshöhe" or the "Rathaus". In addition each card exists in either bluish-grey or olive-green (6 cards) and finally each of these six cards also exists either with or without an additional line of text "3. PHILATELISTISCHE OSTLANDTAGUNG" along the bottom edge for a total of 12 variations.

SPECIAL CANCEL: A special cancel was available at the exhibition inscribed "KASSEL | Briefmarken Ausstellung Kurhessen-Thüringen"

There are 4 variations featuring the town of LÖWENBURG with a 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion stamp.
