ZUM GEDENKEN DES 9. NOVEMBER 1923
HONOURING the FALLEN of 9th Nov 1923
(9th Nov 1937)
An on-going theme throughout the Nazi years was an attempt to build up myths and legends and try to create a backstory so that the common man could identify with the movement. Part of that story-telling effort was to create marthyrs and heroes that would help to legitimise the movement. The failed Munich putsch on 9th Nov 1923 and the 16 Nazi's who died during that failed attempt to seize control of the Bavarian governement, was a gift to the Nazi's and one they would use again and again.
