BRIEFMARKEN AUSSTELLUNG - ERFURT
STAMP EXHIBITION - ERFURT
(7th Mar 1937)
BACKGROUND: There were two identical postcards sponsored by the Winter Relief Fund (Wintershilfswerk) to commemorate the Erfurt Stamp Exhibition. The two cards are identical except for the colour of the stamp in the image on the left-hand pane: PP142-C-9/01 is blue and PP142-C-9/02 is red. Both have the same 5Rpf Luftpost airmail stamp. There were also two additional cards that did not have a pre-printed stamp.
SPECIAL CANCEL: There was a special cancel available inscribed "ERFURT | Briefmarken=Ausstellng für das W.H.W". The cancel features an image of a mother and baby as well as two small swastikas. The example below features the special cancellation that was used.
