OFFICIAL POSTCARD

Issued 22nd Nov 1937 to raise funds for the Winter Relief Fund and valid for use until 30th Jun 1938. The card features a 6Rpf stamp with an additional 4Rpf for the charity. Examples of this card being used before the official issue date (22.11.37) can be found.

The card was designed by artist couple von Axtler-Heudlass in Berlin and the intention was to highlight the importance of deep sea fishing to the German people. A large part of the catch was 'donated' to the WHW and then passed on to those in need.
