WINTERHILFSWERK (WHW) #3
WINTERHILFSWERK d. DEUTSCHEN VOLKS 1933/34
BACKGROUND: This series of 492 postcards was sponsored by the National Socialist People's Welfare Organization (NSV) and was made available from Dec 1933. The cards were produced as a folded card which comprised three postcards inside of which was a lottery ticket. The subjects depicted on the cards ranged from German history, the German Navy, Aircraft, German colonies, The Hitler Youth, Nazi personalities, buildings and landscapes. They are unnumbered and so are difficult to catalogue. In additon to the cards from the NSV there was another series used in Danzig titled "Besucht Shöne Danzig" - 'Visit Beautiful Danzig'.
Since there were so many of these cards available I decided to sort them by subject (there were multiple publishers and some do not have publisher data), so that seemed like the best option.
