BACKGROUND: This postcard was published in 1926 to highlight the plight of the older members of society, a group particularly at risk during this period. The image on the reverse of the card depicts an older person and the inscription "Schützt das Alten dass Euch den weg bereitet hat" - 'Protect the old who have prepared the way for you'.
