(UNDATED)

Deutsche Lufthansa AG was founded in 1926 and existed until 1953 when Luftag acquired the name, logo and fleet. There have been hundreds of postcards issued over the years celebrating the airline. In the heady days of 1926 only the rich and famous could afford to fly, so owning a postcard with an image of a Lufthansa aircraft, flying off to some exotic destination, was about as close to air travel as most people could wish for.

Issued: 1926. There were four postcards published to commemorate Lufthansa, the German state airline in 1926 with 5Rpf Reichsadler stamps. These cards also exist without the pre-printed stamp.
