BACKGROUND: P172 is a double-sided reply card and features a 5Rpf Friedrich von Schiller pre-printed stamp. There are 4 lines of sender's text and the Message (F) side has the inscription "Postkarte | mit Antwortkarte" to the right of the three line vertical divider". The Answer (A) side is inscribed "Postkarte | (Antwortkarte)" also to the right of the central divider.
P172 exists in two variants:
P172-I: has four straight edges
P172-II: has one or more serrated edges
In addition to the regular official card described above there were at least 6 or 7 private printings.
