BACKGROUND: Issued 1921 and features an 80Pf pre-printed stamp with a postal rider approaching a city. As with the other cards P140 and P141, this postcard also has a 5Pf surcharge. However the surcharge is now shown as a "Papierpreiszuschlag 5 Pf" inscription in the centre of the lower border, rather than below the pre-printed stamp as above.
The card exists in two different formats:
P142-I: that has four straight edges
P142-II: which has a serrated edge.
In addition to the variants described above there was at least one version with a private printing.
