Domestic postcards with renewed form change, address form with apartment note as well as extended and underlined 3rd line, with gap in the 4th line.
There are two major versions and two minor versions of this card.
P18-I: Gap in the 4th dotted address line
P18-II: No gap in the 4th dotted address line

POSTALLY UNUSED
1. Below left P18-I with print control date '889' and gap at position R30 on the 4th dotted line.2. Below right P18-II, also with a print control date of '889', but without a gap in the 4th dotted address line.

3. The 3rd card, below, was postally unused and has a print control date of '587' (May 1887) and the gap in the 4th dotted address line is at position R5.



DOMESTIC USE
1. The card below was cancelled on 19th Nov 1887 in FRANKFURT (MAIN) and destined for the town of HIER'. The print control date is '887' (Aug 1887) and the gap in the 4th dotted address line is at position L15.


2. This P18-I card was cancelled in GEESTEMÜNDE on 27th May 1889 and was destined for the town of HEMER in North Rhine-Westphalia. It has a print control date of '1188' (Nov 1888) and a gap at position L15 of the 4th dotted address line.



3. The following P18-I card has a print control date of '389' (Mar 1889) and a gap in position L30 of the 4th dotted address line. The card was cancelled in METZ (part of Germany from May 1871, after the French defeat in the Franco-Prussian war, until 1918), on 13th Sep 1889 and was another delivery to HEMER.



4. HEMER was again the destination for the P18-I card below which was cancelled in BREMEN on 30th Sep 1889. It has a print control date of '189' (Jan 1889) and a gap at position L30 of the 4th dotted address line.



5. Continuing the theme of HEMER, the following P18-I postcard was sent from HAMELN on 20th Jul 1889. The card has a printer's code of '789' and a gap at position L20 of the 4th dotted address line.



6. Sent from SEITENDORF on 28th Apr 1889 this card has a '1288' printer's code and a gap at position L25 of the 4th dotted address line.



7. The next P18-I postcard has a rectangular "JOHANN-GEORGENSTADT" cancel dated 21st May 1889 and the destination was NIEDERODERWITZ. The printer's code is '1188' and the gap on the 4th dotted address line is at position L15.



8. The following card was sent from NIEDERODERWITZ to BUTTSTADT on 17th Dec 1889, just in time for Christmas. The printer's code is '988' and the print control gap is at position R5 of the 4th dotted address line




BAHNPOST USE
1. The P18-I below was cancelled on train number 110 from ASCHERSLEBEN-WITTENBERG, on 4th Jun 1889. The print control date is '389' (Mar 1889) and the gap in the 4th dotted address line is at position L5.



FOREIGN USE
FRANCE
1. The P18-I card below was cancelled on 3rd Sep 1889 and was sent from BERLIN to PARIS, France. In order to cover the additional postage another 5 Pf stamp has been added. The print control date is '789' (Jul 1889) and the gap in the 4th dotted address line is at position L5.


ITALY
1. Below is a P18-I card that was sent from KARLSRUHE (BADEN) to CATANIA in SICILY (ITALY) on 7th May 1888. The card has a printer's code '288' and the print control gap is at position L10. The card has been uprated to 10 Pf by the addition of a self-adhesive 5 Pf stamp.
