THE DAY OF THE STAMP
BACKGROUND: As in previous years there was a special handstamp used to commemorate the Day of the Stamp in 1939. The circular design features the inscription "Tag der Briefmarke" across the middle with the town or city and date above. Below the inscription are three logo and these differ for each town or city. The centre logo is the coat of arms of the individual city and the logos on either side are either K.d.F, R.d.P or W.H.W logos.
