FLIEGER HUMOR - SERIES H
The first set of postcards was issued by Spezialverlag HORN of GOTHA and the series number is H. The cards are numbered but there is no mention of how many cards are in this set.There is a message from the publisher in the box where the stamp is to be affixed reading "Schreibt und sammelt HORN's Flieger-HUMOR-Karten sowie HORN's aktuelle Flieger-FotoKarten, sie bereiten Freude" or 'Write and collect HORN's aviator HUMOR cards as well as HORN's current aviator photo cards, they bring joy'
Text in the bottom left-hand cormer reads "Serie! Flieger-HUMOR | Nr H 1 Zeichnung und Text gesetzl geschützt | Nachahmung, auch auszugsw., wird strfrechtl. verf" - 'Series! Aviator HUMOR | No. H 1 drawing and text protected by law | Imitation, even partial, is punishable by law.'
The remaining text runs along the vertical dividing line on two lines of text "Flieger Fotos und Humor - Karten - Spezialverlag HORN, Gotha | Gegründet 1898. Zur Veröffentlich. freigegeben." - 'Aviator photos and humor - cards - Spezialverlag HORN, Gotha | Founded in 1898. Released for publication.
The cards were the work of Luftwaffe pilot Hannes Trautloft and this series was produced from 1838 until sometime in 1940.

The example below has a message and address filled out on 23rd Nov 1939, but it was not postally used.

The example below-left was cancelled on 5th Dec 1939 in VECHTA. The example below-right is dated and has a unit stamp but was not postally used. The official stamp is inscribed "Dienststelle Feldpost Nr. L 09486 | Luftgaupostamt Brussels" - 'Field Post Office No. L 09486 | Brussels Luftgaupost Office'. The handwritten date is 29th Oct 1940 indicating that the sender was posted to Belgium some time after the capitulation of Belgium on 28th May 1940.

The example below-right is dated and has an official stamp inscribed "Dienststelle Feldpost Nr. L 09486 | Luftgaupostamt Brussels" - 'Field Post Office No. L 09486 | Brussels Luftgaupost Office'. The FELDPOST cancellation is dated 19th Dec 1940 indicating that the sender was posted to Belgium at the time of the posting.
