This series of six humourous postcards was published by Verlag R & K and features a First Wolrd War German soldier enjoying various aspects of army life. The cards are catalogued as Series 2649 and the cards are numbered 1 through 6. There is another set, Series 2648, which features the same soldier enjoying a cigar.

This card is inscribed "Des Kriegers Herz wird hoch beglückt. Vom brief, den zarte hand ihm ichickt" - 'The warrior's heart is greatly delighted. From the letter that a delicate hand sends him'.
