THE THIRD HINDENBURG SERIES
P232 / 39

The third Hindenburg series of Get to Know Germany also appeared in early 1934 and are refered to as P232 in the Michel series. This series is distinquished by a much shorter tail to the 'e' in 'Postkarte', the length varying between 1 to 1.4 mm. This series was more substantial than that of series two, with 144 different cards being produced. There were four variations: The 'Lernt Deutschland Kennen!' heading (130 cards), the 'Besucht des Schone Schlesien' heading (12 cards), the 'Besucht die Bayerische Ostmark' heading (1 card) and finally the 'Lernt Ostpreussen Kennen' heading (1 card).



The inscription below the image reads "Die Pfarrkirche | in der alten Berg- und Festungsstadt Glatz"

'The parish church in the old mountain and fortress town of Glatz'.
