THE THIRD HINDENBURG SERIES
P232 / 135

The third Hindenburg series of Get to Know Germany also appeared in early 1934 and are refered to as P232 in the Michel series. This series is distinquished by a much shorter tail to the 'e' in 'Postkarte', the length varying between 1 to 1.4 mm. This series was more substantial than that of series two, with 144 different cards being produced. There were four variations: The 'Lernt Deutschland Kennen!' heading (130 cards), the 'Besucht des Schone Schlesien' heading (12 cards), the 'Besucht die Bayerische Ostmark' heading (1 card) and finally the 'Lernt Ostpreussen Kennen' heading (1 card).



The inscription below the image reads "Wildbad im Schwarzwald, | berühmtes Thermalbad gegen Rheuma, Gicht, Ischias | Herrlicher Luftkurort 430-750m ü.d.M."

'Wildbad in the Black Forest, famous thermal spa for rheumatism, gout, sciatica. Magnificent climatic health resort 430-750m above sea level', (with the hill in the centre).
