The cards shown on this page are all related to the Kraft Durch Freude cruise ship Robert Ley

Completed: 24th Mar 1939
Maiden voyage: 31st Mar 1939: Hamburg to Wilhelmshaven

This first unused example was a card published by Verlag Hans Andres of Hamburg.




The next postally used, Carl Müller & Sohn of Hamburg example, was cancelled with a special Robert Ley slogan cancellation applied onboard the ship on 9th Aug 1939, just three weeks before the outbreak of the second workd war. The slogan reads "KdF- Reisen Mit Robert Ley" - 'KdF Travel with Robert Ley'.




This Verlag Wilhelm Flohe, Hamburg example was favour cancelled with a special handstamp inscribed "HAMBURG | Reichstagung | der NS-Gemeinschaft "Kraft durch freude" 20.-23.7.1939" - 'HAMBURG | Reichstag | of the Nazi community "Strength through Joy" 20-23 July 1939'
