SAXONY POSTAL SERVICE
This series of 12 postcards commemorates the work of the Saxony postal service. There is no date of issue specified, so I have placed them here because the earliest postally used item I have seen was cancelled on 16th Dec 1914. The cards were all created from paintings by artist Gustav Miller which were signed and dated from 1912 to 1913.The cards were sold in a red envelope inscribed "Zwölf | Farbige Bilder | aus den Lagen der kurfürstlichen und königlich | Sachsischen Post | 1770 bis 1865 | Zweite Auflage | Alle Rechte vorbehalten | Lehmannsche Buchdruckerei, Dresden R."

There appears to be two slightly different versions of these cards as follows:
Type 1: Reverse of the card has the "Lehmannsche Buchdruckerei | Dresden-N, Obergraben" logo on the right-hand side and the text along the vertical divider reads reads "Original-Eigentum Geh, Postrat Karl Thieme, Grossgraups-Dresden"
Type 2: Reverse of the card has the "Lehmannsche Buchdruckerei | Dresden-N, Obergraben" logo on the left-hand side and the text along the vertical divider reads reads "Original-Eigentum Geh, Postrat Karl Thiemes Erben, Grossgraups-Dresden"
