SAXONY POSTAL SERVICE

This series of 12 postcards commemorates the work of the Saxony postal service. There is no date of issue specified, so I have placed them here because the earliest postally used item I have seen was cancelled on 16th Dec 1914. The cards were all created from paintings by artist Gustav Miller which were signed and dated from 1912 to 1913.

The cards were sold in a red envelope inscribed "Zwölf | Farbige Bilder | aus den Lagen der kurfürstlichen und königlich | Sachsischen Post | 1770 bis 1865 | Zweite Auflage | Alle Rechte vorbehalten | Lehmannsche Buchdruckerei, Dresden R."

'Twelve | Coloured images | from the locations of the electoral and royal | Saxon post | 1770 to 1865 | Second edition | All rights reserved | Lehmannsche Buchdruckerei, Dresden R.'
