100th ANNIVERSARY of KRUPP

These postcards were published to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Krupp Company. There are at least five cards in the series two of them exist with a 5Pf Germania pre-printed stamp but most are without any pre-printed stamp.

PP27-C-163
WITH PRE-PRINTED STAMP

There are two cards with pre-printed 5Pf Germania stamps: PP27-C-163/01 and PP27-C-163/02

PP27-C-163/01

This card is the same as PP27-C-163/02 only this card does not have the publisher's details printed vertically in the centre line.

PP27-C-163/02

This card is identical to PP27-C-163/01 above only now with "Herausgegeben vom Essener Verkehrsverein" - 'Published by Essen Tourist Association' inscribed vertically in the centre of the card.

WITHOUT PRE-PRINTED STAMP

There are at least five cards that do not have pre-printed stamps. These cards are unnumbered so are shown here in no paricular order. The first two cards exist with and without pre-printed stamps but the remainng cards do not.

In addition the first two cards are without the additional "Historisches aus den Kruppschen Betrieben" -'History from the Krupp factories' text along the bottom left-hand edge of the card.

No.1

This card is identical to PP27-C-163/01 above, the only difference being it does not have a pre-printed stamp.

This particular card was used as a feldpost card (no stamp required) and was cancelled in ESSEN on 13th Aug 1914.

No.2

This card is identical to PP27-C-163/02 above, the only difference being it does not have a pre-printed stamp.

This example was also cancelled in ESSEN, this time prior to the war on 9th Aug 1912 and has a self adhesive 5Pf Germania stamp applied.
